ID Architecture were approached to design a boutique scheme of five lodges for a rural woodland location in North Yorkshire. The concept was to create bespoke luxury cabins for couples to enjoy for short term stays. In lieu of the traditional log cabin approach, a modern architectural aesthetic was sought with large expanses of glass and high-quality materials for a cohesive finish internally. Designed as a modular system to offer flexibility of arrangement, each cabin features an open plan space with views onto a private terrace and the woodland beyond. Externally, the cabins are faced in charred timber allowing them to sit harmoniously within their woodland environment and bleed seamlessly into the wider landscape.
